The EVASAFE EPL02830 FAULT EXTENSION (GP) board is designed for easy installation and use with the EPL2000 series of fire alarm panels.
The board provides a means of extending a fault condition to a remote manned centre and may be used in conjunction with an autodialler, alarm handling system, etc.
Open the packaging and check that the following items are included:-
i) Open the front panel of the EPL2000 Series fire alarm using the security screwdriver supplied with the fire alarm. Remove all power from the fire alarm panel as per instructions for the panel.
ii) Disconnect the front panel cableform (PLl) from the main control board. To unplug, first release the connector retaining catch by springing it to the right, then remove the connector.
iii) The Fault Extension board needs to be positioned inside the right-hand side of the fire alarm rear enclosure so that the front panel cable that has been unplugged can be plugged into this new board.
This new boards flying lead will then plugged into the EPL2000 board.

iv) Having ascertained the best position for the board, fit the 4 loose adhesive standoffs to the 02830 board, clean the area in the fire alarm enclosure to ensure that it is free from dust and grease, remove the backing paper from the standoffs and mount the board as shown. v) Plug the front panel cable into the EPL02830 board and plug the EPL 02830s free cable into the main fire panel (EPL2000) board. |

It should be lit for LK2 connection. x) Put the panel into the fault condition by disconnecting a Zone. |

Check that:-
The led is now extinguished.
The fault should also now be transmitted by the autodialler or alarm handling system. It is necessary to confirm that this signal has been received correctly at its destination.
xi) Reconnect the disconnected Zone and check that the panel no longer indicates a fault and that the 02830 board's LED is lit. The autodialler or alarm handling system should now revert to its quiescent condition.
xii) Installation is now complete, and the front panel of the EPL2000 panel should be secured and the enabling keys removed.
Ensure that all relevant staff both at the site of the fire panel and at the remote manned centre, (i.e. the location to which the fault condition is signalled) are made aware that the link is in operation.
Enter in the panels log book that the EPL02830 Fault Extension (GP) board has been installed and commissioned.
