USER INSTRUCTIONS, EPL02130-8, 2-8 ZONE PANEL

 

1. NORMAL CONDITION

Green POWER ON light lit, other lights extinguished, all sounders silent.

ACTION

Ensure that weekly tests, quarterly and annual maintenance are performed and entered in the fire alarm log.

2. WEEKLY TEST

ACTION

1) Press the ‘RESET - LAMP TEST’ switch:- all indicator lights on the panel should light.

2) Test the system by operating one or more call points and detectors in succession. The sounders should operate when each device is activated.

Insert the panel’s key into the keyswitch and silence the sounders by turning the key to ‘SILENCE’ and reset by holding the keyswitch at the SILENCE position and simultaneously pressing the RESET switch.

On completion of the test turn the keyswitch momentarily to ‘SILENCE’.

If any fault is observed proceed as in 3. FAULT CONDITION below. Log the test and its results.

3. FAULT CONDITION

Any yellow FAULT light lit, internal sounder operating.

ACTION

Notify repair organisation. Test the alarm and if any loss of cover is observed, take appropriate precautions. Log the fault, ensuing action and repair.

4. FIRE CONDITION

Any red FIRE ZONE light lit. External sounders operating.

ACTION

(a) Duty Fire Supervisor:- Ensure all persons have left the premises. Insert the panel’s key into the keyswitch and silence the sounders by turning the key momentarily to ‘SILENCE. Yellow ALARMS SILENCED indicators will light and panel’s internal sounder will operate. Alarms can be resounded by turning key momentarily to ‘RESOUND’.

When any operated call points have been reset and source of alarm (heat or smoke) has dissipated the panel may be reset by holding the keyswitch at the SILENCE position and simultaneously pressing the RESET switch. Enter the incident in the log.

(b) Other persons:- Leave the premises by the nearest available emergency exit. Go to the assembly point and await instructions.
